Every once in a while, you stumble across a cookbook that isn't just full of recipes, it's an experience. That's exactly how I felt when I opened Savor by Kimberly Stevens.
I originally expected another charcuterie cookbook filled with serving board ideas. Instead, I found something much more inspiring.
This is one of those books that makes you want to slow down, invite friends over, light a candle, and spend the afternoon creating beautiful food.
From the very first page, I was hooked.
The photography alone is worth owning this book. Every page looks like it belongs inside a high-end food magazine. The styling is warm, rustic, elegant, and completely approachable. I found myself lingering over the images just as much as I did the recipes.
And there are a lot of recipes.
While charcuterie boards are certainly a part of the book, Savor goes much further than arranging meats and cheeses.
Inside you'll find recipes for:
Beautiful serving boards
Homemade crackers
Rustic breads
Cheese dishes
Pickles and preserves
Hummus and spreads
Appetizers
Condiments
Desserts
Entertaining inspiration
Countless ideas for bringing everything together into a memorable gathering.
One of my favorite things about this book is that it teaches you how to build flavor throughout an entire board instead of simply placing ingredients next to one another. Every chapter adds another layer that helps you create something truly special.
The recipes themselves feel approachable. They're elevated enough for entertaining but realistic enough that many could become favorites you'll make throughout the year.
I also appreciate that this isn't a cookbook you'll read once and put back on the shelf.
It's the kind of book you'll leave sitting on your kitchen counter because you'll constantly be flipping back through it looking for inspiration.
Whether it's a baked Brie, homemade rye crackers, colorful hummus, pickled vegetables, or one of the many preserves, there is always another recipe you'll want to try.
Savor by Kimberly Stevens is not only a cookbook I'll reach for again and again, it's one I'll be gifting to friends and recommending to anyone who loves beautiful food, effortless entertaining, and inspiring recipes.
As someone who loves beautiful food photography, this book completely won me over.
Every image feels intentional.
The lighting is soft.
The styling is natural.
Nothing feels overdone.
It simply makes you want to cook.
If you enjoy entertaining, love seasonal gatherings, or simply appreciate beautifully designed cookbooks, I think Savor deserves a place on your bookshelf.
My Rating: ★★★★★
Not because it's trendy.
Not because it's new.
Because it's one of those rare cookbooks that inspires you every time you open it.

Trust me, if you love cookbooks as much as I do, you're going to love this one. And it got me thinking, what if we started a monthly cookbook review club? If you have a favorite cookbook you'd love for me to review, let me know in the comments. I'd love to hear your recommendations.
As always, happy reading!
