A Season of Growth: Creating Books Inspired by Nature, Healing, and the Hunt for Vintage Treasures. What I've been doing lately and what's coming around the corner.

Over the past several months, I’ve been creatively dabbling in all sorts of stuff. I've been working quietly behind the scenes on several projects, which has included bringing to life a collection of books that reflect the things I love most, nature, creativity, mindfulness, and the art of living slowly. What began as a small personal project, has grown into three published works now available on Amazon: Leaf & Letter, Collectors’ Corner, and Roots & Light: A Meditative Writing Journal.

Each book carries a small part of me within it; my love of herbs and the earth, my lifelong passion for collecting vintage treasures, and my own healing journey through nature and reflection. Together, they mark the beginning of something larger, a creative life rooted in simplicity, wonder, and intention.

Leaf & Letter – For the Herb Lover and Creative Soul

Leaf & Letter was born from my deep love of plants, especially herbs, and how they’ve shaped the way I live, cook, and create. From making home remedies and blending teas to using herbs in everyday recipes, they’ve always been part of my rhythm and creativity.

This book brings that connection to life through gentle word searches inspired by the natural world, from the soil beneath our feet to the leaves steeped in a cup of tea. Each puzzle offers a quiet moment of mindfulness, much like tending a garden or brewing an herbal blend. It’s a collection for those who find peace in the green things that grow and the slow rituals that bring us closer to nature.

Collectors’ Corner – For Those Who Treasure the Hunt

Collectors’ Corner is a reflection of a lifelong passion, my love of secondhand and vintage finds. I’ve been collecting for a very long time. My childhood weekends in the 70's and 80's meant perusing the swap meets for treasures (swap meets are what we called flea markets back then). Each word search in Collectors’ Corner celebrates that same spirit, the joy of the hunt, the stories behind the objects, and the nostalgia of rummaging through a table of treasures waiting to be found. It’s for the collectors, the thrifters, and anyone who knows that sometimes the most meaningful things come with a little dust and a lot of character.

Roots & Light: A Meditative Writing Journal – Reflections Beneath the Oaks

Roots & Light came from my own healing journey and my love of nature, from quiet walks along oak lined trails where I found grounding, strength, and inspiration in the stillness. I began photographing these trees during moments of reflection; capturing how the light shifted through their branches, how their roots held the earth steady, and how they seemed to remind me that growth often happens in stillness.

This journal features my black and white oak photography throughout its pages, paired with inspirational quotes and space for mindful writing. It’s designed to be a companion for reflection, a place to write, pause, and reconnect with yourself and the natural world around you.

On the Horizon: The Fig Hollow Farm Cookbook

And while these three books now hold a special place on my shelf, something new is coming to life in my kitchen, a cookbook inspired by the everyday meals, herbs, and homegrown flavors that define life here at Fig Hollow Farm.

This upcoming book will bring together my favorite recipes: cozy soups, rustic bakes, garden-fresh salads, teas, and seasonal creations; each infused with the same creativity and warmth that flows through my other work. It’s not just a cookbook; it’s a continuation of this story, where nature, nourishment, and creativity come together in the kitchen.
